Expedition to Madagascar
A group of students from Concord has just returned from a three week expedition to Madagascar. One of the teachers who accompanied the group, Dr. Phil Outram, has been speaking of the highlights of the expedition from spending a night in a home for disadvantaged children to building a water tower in a village without running water.
Summer School Bursaries for Students from Greece
Two Greek students are among those who have been given bursaries to attend the three week Summer School in July at Concord. One of the students is taught English at her school in Athens by Mrs. Julie Dix who is currently teaching English on the Concord Summer School course.
Summer School Bursaries Help Teenagers from Brazil
Two disadvantaged youngsters from Brazil are among eight students who have been given bursaries to Concord’s Summer School. They are Vitor Davi Silva Fidelis and Karolina Felipe De Alvarenga, both 14, who have arrived for three weeks from a Foundation in Rio De Janeiro that helps disadvantaged children.
Summer School Bursary Winners
A Chinese girl’s adulation for David Beckham has won her a bursary to Concord’s Summer School. Clara Chan, 16, who is from the city of Hong Kong, beat 130 students in a British Council competition to win the bursary for the three week summer school at Concord.
It's a First for First Aid at Summer School
It’s a first for first aid training which will be provided for 22 students attending Summer Courses at Concord College in July and August. St. John Ambulance is giving students aged nine to 17 the opportunity to become a life saver with a brand new learning programme specially designed for summer schools.
