Record Medals Haul in Biology Olympiad
A record medals haul has been collected by sixth form biology students at Concord, who for the first time in four years of competing won seven gold medals in the British Biology Olympiad 2015.
Library Celebrates 5th Birthday
Concord’s library has been celebrating its fifth birthday with a special cake and balloons. Head librarian Mrs. Anne Williams said the library at Concord had seen changes since it opened in 2010.
Sixth form geography students from Concord braved the elements including gale force winds and blizzards in a packed five day field trip to the land of ‘fire and ice’ where they also helped to rescue a motorist stranded up an icy track!
Students Prepare for Readers & Writers Festival
Students at Concord are preparing for the Readers and Writers Festival by practising cutting a cake mathematically! The festival will this year include two talks by celebrated author and mathematician Alex Bellos who as well as has written the best-selling maths book ‘Alex’s Adventures in Numberland’ and ‘Alex through the Looking Glass.’
Form 3 Activities Week
The scene was an earthquake hitting Acton Burnell. But would students have the skills to survive? That was the first challenge for Concord’s Form 3 students who took part in an activities week at the end of last term both on and off campus.
