At the end of term Concord said farewell to Mr Martin Patey who is retiring after eleven years of service. In addition to his mathematics teaching, Mr Patey has cared for generations of students as a tireless House Parent in Main House.
Success in Physics Competitions
Concord students have once again proven their physics capabilities with some outstanding performances in Physics competitions with three students winning gold medals in the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) including one top gold award achieved by Tommy Sun.
Students Donate to Hope House Charity Shops
Students who are leaving or have gone on summer vacation are giving away quality clothes and other items to one of the area’s most loved charities, Hope House Children’s Hospice. Hundreds of bags of many different kinds of items are being collected at Concord for distribution to Hope House charity shops over the coming days.
Mrs Denham Retires
Mrs. Gail Denham retires at the end of the Summer Term as Head of Lower School at Concord, a role that she took on in January 2009. Mrs Denham who was born in Shrewsbury, embarked on her teaching career in 1976 which has included working at eight schools and colleges prior to joining Concord. She recently reflected on her achievements as Head of Lower School.
6.1 Dinner & Prize Winners
On Saturday 6th June 6.1 students at Concord were treated to an end of year dinner. The evening was a chance to celebrate the end of a successful year, award the subject prizes and to bring the year group together for a sophisticated social event.
