Reunion February 15th
Over 230 former Concord students who had attended the college in the last six years – the majority are still at university in the UK – attended the reunion on February 15th.
Toby Wins Gold!
A paper that was sat by 1,500 students nationally has won Concord student Toby Li (6.2) a gold medal. Toby who has an offer to read mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge next year, scored 50 out of 60 marks in the British Mathematical Olympiad round one paper.
TED inspires Leo to launch CED
TED (Technology. Entertainment. Design) Talks on the Internet have inspired a Concord student to launch CED (Create. Engage. Discover) in what could be the first initiative of its kind in a school. Concord’s CED incorporates weekly talks and the production of a magazine under the team leadership of Leo He (6.1).
Starry Night Concert
The Starry Night Concert took place in the Concord theatre on 8th February. Now an annual event and organised entirely by the students of the Outreach Society, the concert featured the singing and dancing talents of a host of our very own Concord ‘Stars.’ The evening was a sell-out success and raised over £600 for MENCAP.
Best of British
Concord’s Summer School is second in the best of British summer schools according to the EL Gazette. Their ranking, published in the latest edition of the EL Gazette, one of the best known publications in English Language teaching, is being celebrated by the Summer Course team.
